Can’t decide between the Ford Bronco or Chevy Blazer for your next SUV? This comparison of the two can help you make the right choice:
Power
Even the base Ford Bronco comes with a very potent engine: it’s a turbocharged 2.3-liter, four-cylinder that produces 275 horsepower and 315 lbs.-ft. of torque. There is also a turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that offers 315 horsepower and 410 lbs.-ft. of torque. A seven-speed manual transmission is standard, but a 10-speed automatic is available. The base Chevy Blazer only generates 193 horsepower and 188 lbs.-ft. of torque from its 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. In fact, you’d have to go with the top engine offered to get more power than the smaller engine in the Ford Bronco.
Cargo Space
With the four-door model, the Ford Bronco offers outstanding cargo space for its class. The hardtop has 35.6 cubic feet behind the back row and 77.6 cubic feet when it’s down, and those numbers increase to 38.3 and 83 cubic feet with the soft top. The amount of room in the Chevy Blazer is much smaller: 30.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 64.2 cubic feet when they’re folded.
Tech
The Ford Bronco comes with an assortment of standard tech features. These include a very easy to use and responsive infotainment system with an eight-inch touchscreen. You will also get:
· Satellite radio
· Wireless Apple CarPlay®
· Wireless Android Auto™
· USB ports
· A six-speaker stereo
While Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ do come in the Chevy Blazer, they aren’t wireless. Plus, some critics have noted that its infotainment system isn’t always so user-friendly.
