Fall in Wisconsin.jpg

How are lucky are we to live in the state of Wisconsin? If you think about it, we are truly a hidden gem in the Midwest. All around us there is natural beauty no matter where you go. Not only are we connected to the world’s largest freshwater lakes that contain incredibly beauty in themselves, our seasons change along with it. This makes for incredible scenery and views all year round but it is truly magnificent in fall. With the change of the leaves and the cold crisp feeling in the air, the fall drives in Wisconsin are second to none. Here’s some of our favorites for a road trip filled with beauty along the Badger State:

-The Kettle Moraine Drive: Close to home, this 115-mile drive outside of many of Wisconsin’s counties just screams beauty. Going from Elkhart Lake all the way down to Whitewater, the colors and vibe are simply unmatched.

-Highway 42/Highway 57 Door County: So many amazing twists and turns make for an incredible view of forestry and wildlife. Because the bay protects the trees, the trees glow with radiance and explode with color.

-Upper Mississippi Valley: Sandstone bluffs covered with foliage and wildlife bring an insane amount of beauty right along the state line. If you take Highway 35, you’re guaranteed at least 250 miles of beauty and color.

-Highway 51/70 Onieda County: Anyone who has ever been to the Northwoods of Wisconsin knows exactly what I’m talking about. When the colors are at their peak, it’s almost overwhelming at the amount of beauty that can surround you at any given time.

-Wisconsin Dells: Take a Duck ride in the fall and you’ll understand. Although Wisconsin Dells is unincorporated, the scenery surrounding this Wisconsin tourist hot spot is more prominent in the not-so-busy months with the colors exploding off of the Wisconsin River.

-Devil’s Lake: Not only is Devil’s Lake a hiker’s dream, it also is a scenic smorgasbord of explosive colors in the fall. With a state park sticker needed for hiking, even just driving past this amazing view is enough to get anyone up in their fall feels.

-Marinette County Waterfall Tour: With over 125 miles of beautiful scenery, you come across some pretty amazing waterfalls on top of the fall colors and glisten off of the water. The Peshtigo River flows in the background and makes for incredible beauty.

-Highway 33: Connecting with us here at Schmit Bros, Highway 33 goes all the way across the state to LaCrosse with many amazing stops along the way. Largely small towns in-between the trees, this over 200-mile drive gets all the beauty along the way.

Before you head out on to the beautiful Wisconsin road, make sure to stop in at Schmit Bros for all of your fall maintenance needs on your car to make the most of your fall trip. Tire rotation and fluid level checks are essential for the winter months to keep your vehicle running it’s best. As always, seize the day and enjoy the beautiful fall weather!
