Lora Pease loves her job.
She says that one of the best things about working at our dealership is the family atmosphere; it’s owned by local families who always understand that family comes first, and we all have obligations other than work. She also loves how Schmit Bros is giving back to the local community because you don’t see that often.
That’s what brought Lora here during COVID and has kept her here ever since. While chatting with a few other dealerships, Lora said that what brought her here was a different feel...the feel that it was more than just a car dealership. It was like a big family. And who doesn’t want to be a part of a big family?
I sat down with Lora to ask her about her story and what she’d like to share with us so we could write this blog for our website. A smile worth a million bucks, her soft-spoken and honest demeanor make her one of the best and most valuable product specialists here at Schmit Bros. She really cares about what she does, and she values people’s time as well as what’s important to them. When you sit down to tell Lora what you’re looking for, she’s either going to find it or keep her eyes open for you.
Lora was born here in Wisconsin, with an identical twin sister named Lona. When she was 8, her dad’s job brought them to the frozen tundra of Alaska, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She met her husband in the year 2000 and they married in 2006.
Schmit Bros is the first car dealership she’s worked for; before Schmit Bros she did real estate, MLM work, and retail. Customer service and making people happy is at the top of her priority list. A friend of hers had mentioned that since she had worked in real estate and done so well for herself, working at a car dealership would be a great idea since she has a unique way of selling things to people. She says she always tries to be upfront and honest with her customers and find them what they’re looking for instead of just trying to make a quick sale because she values people’s time and money. Lora states that buying a car and a house are 2 of the most expensive and important endeavors people can buy and she’s more than happy to be a part of that process because it’s something people remember forever. She also likes to help people, so what better way to do that than to find them the car they’re looking for?!
One of Lora’s favorite cars on the lot here at Schmit Bros is the Ford Explorer; she said she owned one for 10 years and they seem to last forever. It’s spacious and big enough to fit her entire family, and the way they drive is what she is looking for in a car; especially in the Wisconsin (and Alaskan) winters.
When Lora isn’t here, she’s usually with her husband, 3 children (24, 15, 13), and 2 granddaughters (can you believe she’s a grandma!) She’s always running her kids to different sporting events and other school activities, as well as keeping herself busy with her side business! Lora and her husband Adam also operate a small business out of their shop called Garage to Home where they make custom wood projects like American flags, welcome signs, games to play, and an assortment of other really great things.
