Ford debuted the Ford F-150 Raptor in the middle of the Baja desert- kind of hardcore if you think about it. Raptor owners have had many adventures that have taken them through muddy swamps, snowy pastors, rocks, and sandy trails. And the desert of course. And now the Ford Raptor trim level comes not only in the F-150, but the Ford Bronco and the Ford Ranger as well!
The Ford Raptor feels comfortable and like you’re definitely in the lap of luxury. The 12-inch screen and gauges are crystal clear and super easy to navigate. There are a ton of buttons, knobs, doodads, and everything else that you can easily use with your winter gear on but not too many that they’re hard to figure out. The Raptor Recaro bucket seats and the Unleashed sound system and carbon fiber interior trim make it a pleasant and smooth ride. The Raptor can also come with heated and air-conditioned front seats with massage, heated steering wheel, cruise control with lane departure warning, and the list goes on from there. Ford’s power folding shift lever and interior surface with a 120V interior outlet are extra bells and whistles for any sportsman. With about 450 horsepower and a foot of ground clearance, the Raptor can go into any woods unscathed.
The Raptor features a five-link rear suspension with rear coil springs and FOX Live Valve internal bypass shocks; therefore, it handles like a sports truck with weighted steering and awesome stability. The Baja mode in the Raptor has finally found its place in the truck industry! With modes ranging from Quiet to Sport to Baja, the Raptor changes from a whisper to jamming, all with the press of a button.
The Raptor going into snow engages drive mode 4×4 High, locked the rear differential, and set the steering effort to Comfort automatically. You could have made all those changes manually, but Ford’s decided nah, they’ll just do it for you. How cool is that? It doesn’t matter if there is 6 inches or 2 feet of snow, the Raptor can run through just about anything! The locked rear differential also makes it easy to make some Raptor-sized impressions in the freshly fallen snow- from a truck and not a dinosaur, naturally.
If you’ve ever spent time on a snowmobile, you know it can be a frigid, damp, and cramped experience. In the Raptor, it is always set at a comfortable temperature with a toasty heated seat as an option and some jams on the sound system. The cabin always has plenty of storage space and it is put together with materials that fit this truck perfectly. It can also be a family vehicle, sports vehicle, and trail-ready 4×4- all combined into a tech savvy styled package! A cruise through the snow is the perfect way to spend a day in your Ford F-150 Raptor, or in the desert.
