Ah, the 90’s. The time when the internet was hitting our homes, boy bands were all the rage, and baggy jeans and flannels were the style. It’s so funny how so many things can sometimes come full circle, including cars. So many cars from the 90’s have followers and many of the manufactures don’t exist anymore! Buying parts and the cars themselves can be difficult unless you’re willing to pay a lot or get super lucky at the bone yard. We love the 90’s and here are some of our favorite cars from one of our favorite decades!
The Lotus Esprit Turbo gained attention after it was in the movie Pretty Woman. This sports car looked awesome during its time and offered plenty of fun with 264-horsepower. The 1991 Esprit Turbo wasn’t able to maintain its popularity, unfortunately. With problems like oil leaks, it’s gotten to a point where you'll hardly ever see one. But when you do, you can bet it’s from a car enthusiast.

The Aston Martin DB7 was one of those cars from the '90s that deserved all the attention that it got. With a 3.2-liter V6 and 335 horsepower, it was a force to be reckoned with. Or like they said in The Sandlot, “the Beast”. On top of all of that, the Aston Martin was easy on the eyes. But its popularity took a beating and became the car that people avoided. It had issues with reliability and maintenance costs were out of this world.

In 1991, we saw Dodge bring forth the Stealth R/T. This car came with a 3.0-liter V6 and 300-horsepower. WOW. For its crazy performance and handling, it was a car everybody wanted to be driving down the road in. Prices for the Stealth R/T fell over the years because many sports cars had other models that had MORE POWER (in the words of Tim “the tool man” Taylor) and the Dodge Stealth R/T had to silently bow out.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has always offered models with a combination of luxury and power. The 1998 C230 took the cake and ate it too. While it may not have been the fastest car, it was one of the best Mercedes-Benz C-Class models during its time. This car used to cost an arm and a leg. It still offers plenty of luxury and handles itself well, but the C-Class lineup has serious developments with time. No one is really interested in one anymore.

The Mazda RX-7. That’s it. That is all we have to say. This car had three generations with the FD generation initially introduced in 1992. It is also one of the most recognizable versions of this Mazda. The kicker? It was used by Dominic Toretto in the Fast & Furious franchise. For gearheads who are looking for some fun with a compact performance car, the RX-7 FC is a great choice. AND because of the movie franchise, this little number is making a comeback but had a following even before the movies.

The Ferrari 456 GTA was one of the fastest four-seater cars in the 1990’s. It had a top speed of 192 mph and could go from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds. SMOKING! The 456 name was a nod to the size of the cylinders on this car in cubic centimeters. But make no mistake, this Ferrari was a status symbol back in the day and even is looked at with rose colored glasses by many car enthusiasts today!

Fewer luxury cars turned heads quite like the Bentley Arnage. This vehicle was introduced in North American markets during the late '90s and offered retro styling, a robust engine, and amazing luxury. It also has a huge following in luxury car collectors today.

The Cadillac Allante was inspired by European luxury, and it showed. Earlier models of the Allante, especially in the 1990’s, were fitted with a 4.1-liter aluminum V8 that produced 170 horsepower. The Allante was America's answer to the European luxury cars in the market at the time. It came with two trims, including a convertible and a hardtop convertible. But with the 90’s coming back again, who knows, the Allante may also be back.

Chrylser and Maserati decided to enter a partnership together in the 90’s (we know, it sounds like a movie). Because of that, we saw the Chrysler TC Maserati as a result. It made its initial debut in the late '80 and found success because of the Maserati badge. This car is no longer the rage that it once was, but how cool would it be to tell people that you own a Maserati?

The Camaro IROC-Z remains one of the most forgotten Chevrolet Camaro models ever, and honestly, we don’t know why. It is fair to note that all Camaro enthusiasts know this car and probably many agree with us as well. During the '90s, it was a racing car of the IROC-Z series. It pioneered the later Chevrolet models and was equipped with several impressive features for its time. This car definitely holds a place in 90’s pop culture and within the car community, especially among Camaro gearheads.
